What is it and how can it bring about healing ?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often known as tapping, is a beautifully gentle yet powerful approach that blends modern psychology with the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine. It works with the body’s natural energy pathways (meridians) to help restore emotional balance, calm the nervous system, and support overall wellbeing.
Developed in 1995 by Gary Craig, EFT is now used worldwide to help people release emotional stress, ease physical discomfort, and gently resolve limiting beliefs and past experiences that may still be affecting their lives today.
EFT is wonderfully versatile. It can be used for specific challenges—such as anxiety, pain, or emotional overwhelm—or simply as a regular self-care practice to support ongoing balance and healing. In traditional Chinese medicine, emotions are believed to play a key role in our health. When emotions are not fully processed, they may become stored in the body, contributing to tension, discomfort, or fatigue. Tapping helps to clear these energetic blocks, allowing the body and mind to return to a more harmonious state.
We are more than just our physical bodies. Our emotional, mental, and energetic wellbeing are deeply connected, and when one area is out of balance it can affect the others. EFT gently supports all of these layers, helping you feel more grounded, clear, and at ease.
Thought Therapy
Sessions can be offered either in person or remotely, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. Before we meet, you’ll receive a short client form to help you reflect on what you would like support with and what you hope to gain from the session.
We will begin by going through the basic EFT tapping process together, so you feel confident and supported. From there, we can gently explore different variations of the technique to help address the areas that are most important to you. As we work, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the effects of tapping first-hand while learning how to use it for yourself.
Although EFT is gentle and natural, it can create meaningful shifts—both emotionally and physically. By learning how to use the technique in different ways, you’ll gain a valuable self-help tool that you can return to whenever you need support, calm, or clarity. This is a safe, nurturing space designed to help you reconnect with your inner balance and support your journey toward greater wellbeing.
