Sound Healing

“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs- and becoming who you are” so that you can focus on the wonderful you, that dwells inside.

Rachel Naomi Remen

When we begin noticing a decline in our usual energy or efficiency, or experience symptoms like aches, pains, stiffness, sore joints, low moods, or insomnia, the list of concerns can seem endless. If our bodies start signaling distress—whether through physical discomfort, illness, or a general feeling of being unwell on a physical, psychological, or emotional level—we often turn to doctors and health practitioners for support. While consulting a GP or medical professional is always recommended when feeling unwell, complementary therapies are also available to support healing alongside conventional medicine. Reiki, for example, is a valuable complementary therapy that assists us on multiple levels.

Reiki, along with other energy healing techniques like sound healing, is based on the principle of enhancing our natural life force energy, known as “Ki,” by clearing blockages and restoring balance within our energy fields. Energy healing offers a gentle approach to addressing areas of discomfort or imbalance in the body. The aim of these practices is to help the body identify areas of discord, allowing it to activate its natural healing mechanisms, also known as homeostasis—the body’s ability to self-regulate and initiate its own healing.

In sound healing sessions, ancient techniques are used to cleanse and realign the body, helping clients feel lighter and more at ease, both emotionally and mentally. When physical concerns are the focus, sound can be used to encourage the body to reach deeper levels of healing.

Sound has been widely used to support healing, with research into “cymatics” providing insights into how each sound produces a unique form, which can be used to “retrain” or “retune” the body’s energy fields.
