When we begin to notice a decline in our usual efficiency, or when we experience aches, pains, stiffness, sore joints, low moods, or insomnia, the list can indeed be extensive. If our bodies start showing physical signs of distress, if we are diagnosed with an illness, or simply feel unwell on a physical, psychological, or emotional level, we often turn to doctors and health practitioners for advice and guidance. While it is always advisable to consult with your local GP or medical professionals when feeling unwell, there are various complementary therapies available to use alongside conventional medicine. Reiki, for instance, is an excellent complementary therapy that can assist us on multiple levels.
The principle of Reiki, along with other energy healing techniques like sound healing, is founded on the concept of enhancing our natural life force energy, known as “Ki,” as well as purifying and removing any blockages or areas of energy that do not align with our natural state. Energy healing is a gentle approach that can aid the body in addressing areas of discomfort or disease. The core idea of all energy healing techniques is to enable the body to identify areas of discord or imbalance, thereby activating its innate healing capabilities (homeostasis – the body’s ability to self-regulate and initiate its own healing processes).
In sound healing sessions, we employ ancient techniques to cleanse and retune our bodies, allowing us to feel more comfortable, lighter, and less burdened on an emotional, mental, and spiritual level. Conversely, if we aim to address physical issues, sound can be utilized to prompt the body to engage in more profound levels of healing.
There are numerous cases where sound has been used to facilitate healing. Research into “cymatics,” for example, demonstrates how each sound generates a specific form, which can then be employed to “retrain or retune” the body’s energy fields.
