Anxiety

I would like to talk you to you about a term, which is often called anxiety. Now that I am able to see these emotions for what they are. I can see that personally, it is something that I’ve had myself, for most of my life. I just didn’t realise that it had a name. I have often wondered over the years “What’s wrong with me?”, why do I feel nervous, why am I so worried…
Which eventually became the catalyst into working with energy healing. After discovering how wonderful the modality was, I turned my attention to researching more about it. I began to look into the history, as well as the psychology, physiology, and the like.
Now that I know a little bit more about how the body works, I am able to look at it in a different way.
Which is really what I wanted to share with you today.

Emotions could be termed INFORMATION IN MOTION. They can happen at any time, yet they might link to something that has happened in our past or we feel could happen in our future. We could be going about our everyday business and all of a sudden something happens that causes an emotion to arise. If it were a positive emotion, we would probably just enjoy it and return to what we was doing before, without even second guessing it.   However, if it caused us to feel aggressive, fearful or anxious, what happens then?

Physicians such as Dr Joe Dispenza and Dr Bruce Lipton have a great deal of knowledge on the subject.  They have spent a lot of time looking into emotions and how they can affect our life on many levels.  Rather than focusing on how they make us feel however, they have done lots of research into the ways, that they can affect our psychology, physiology and bio-chemistry.

Dr Bruce for example, has shown through his work, that emotions relate directly to our subconscious patterning.  He refers to this as the 95% that we are not consciously using. Likening our subconscious to programming.  Such as those found within our survival mode of thinking, which respond directly to the fight, flight or freeze instincts that we (and other animals) are in touch with innately.

Connected to the amygdala in our limbic brain, this system is able to store memories as well as playing a key role, when it comes to decision making, &responding to the emotions as they come up in our body. Although we store both positive and negative memories & emotions.  We are more likely to remember negative ones, as these are often attached to the survival response system. By understanding more about the way that our body works in conjunction with our brain, we might then begin to draw a direct comparison to emotions, being, information in motion.  When a change happens in our environment (for whatever reason) our body alerts our brain, which will then tell us how to respond to it.

Dr Joe, tells us that our brain often compartmentalizes information, in either the past, present or future. If for example, we have a lot of stored emotions, memories or experiences, with negative connotations, this could build up within us to create feelings of depression. If we tend to worry about the future, this could often develop into feelings of anxiety.

If we are able to recognise the emotions (or information in motion) within our body, before they make a connection with the brain, we have the ability to respond in a different way. When you are able to RECOGNISE EMOTIONS for what they are (information in motion).  It can change our perspective on how we re-act to them. If we are able to notice the feelings in our body in the “now”, we are better equipped to choose how to respond from a place of neutrality.

Rather than responding to the feelings that they might link to, in terms of things that have happened in the past, or could potentially happen in the future. For when we are able to work in coherence with our body, rather than just our mind, we have ability to re-gain control.  So that we might be able to work from the place of who we are at this present moment, rather than allowing our programming take over. We are more able to choose how to respond, rather than being caught up in the moment, as it were!!
